Dismissal, Probation & Extension Policy

Students may be dismissed on the following basis:

  • The failure to adequately participate in the educational program with more than two unexcused absences
  • The failure to participate in individual supervisory sessions are required by the CPEI Standards
  • The failure to comply with the Code of Professional Ethics
  • The failure to pay student tuition

Only in extreme circumstances, i.e., death in the family, hospitalization, etc. students may request an extension. Extension must be submitted in writing with the stated reason(s) for the request.

CPE Supervisors/Educators have the option of awarding credit for 1/2 course/unit of work has been completed and tuition paid.

Supervisors/Educators will utilize the required formatted letter for addressing these needs and include it in the student’s record.

Supervisors/Educators will include actions taken on the Post Course Completion Form.
