Confidentiality Policy

Maintaining Confidentiality: Supervisory/Educators (Faculty) and Administration must maintain confidential student records, which include but not limited to student applications, final evaluations, reference letters, etc. must be maintained securely and not released without the student’s consent.

Although CPEI does not fall strictly under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements of 1974, we believe the importance of maintaining academic and personal information a sacred responsibility. If in doubt, seek consultation.

Consent: Supervisors/Educators (Faculty) must be request written permission to record student activity, whether during individual or group supervision. The consent form can be found here.

Release of Information: Students requesting a release of an evaluation, or a transcript of their CPE work must complete and submit the Release Request online.

Failure to comply with these requests will result in a referral to the Ethics and Compliance Committee for review.
